Raymond W. Alden III
Executive Vice President and Provost, Northern Illinois University
Raymond W. Alden III was appointed Executive Vice President and Provost beginning July 1, 2006. He received a BA/BS in biology from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and a Ph.D in Zoology from the University of Florida. Alden spent more than a decade at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as the chief academic officer. Prior to that he spent 21 years at Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia where he served on the faculty and, during the last 15 years, as director of ODU's multidisciplinary Applied Marine Research Laboratory.
Cherilyn G. Murer
President and CEO, Murer Consultants, Inc., Joliet, Illinois;
Chair, Northern Illinois University Board of Trustees
Cherlyn Murer is president and CEO of the Murer Group, a legal-based healthcare consulting group headquartered in Joliet. A former director of rehabilitation medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Murer and her colleagues now represent hospitals and health systems throughout the United States, providing strategic planning services and assistance in complying with complex state and federal regulations. Murer is an alumna of the NIU College of Law, serves on its Board of Visitors, and in 2003 received the College's Distinguished Alumnus award. She also is a member of the NIU Foundation Board of Directors, and chairs that group's development committee.
George A. Moser

George Moser is Chairman and CEO of Charter National Bank and Trust in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Moser has served as President of the Chicago Bankers Association, Chairman of the Commission to Elect the Illinois Commissioner of Banks and Trusts and has severed on numerous boards including State of Illinois Wireless 911 and Northern Illinois University. Moser received a BA in Economics and Sociology from St. Ambrose University in Davenport Iowa.
Eddie R. Williams
Executive Vice President for Business and Finance, and Chief of Operations, Northern Illinois University
Eddie Williams is the Executive Vice President of Business & Finance and Chief of Operations for Northern Illinois University. In this capacity, Dr. Williams is responsible for all business, fiscal, budgetary and facility matters as well as oversight of all operational aspects of the university. Upon obtaining his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Columbia University in New York, Dr. Williams accepted an academic faculty position at NIU where after achieving tenure and promotion he pursued his interest in a university administrative role. This career path has allowed Dr. Williams to serve NIU in a variety of positions including Assistant to the University President, Associate Director and Director of Budget and Planning, Acting Vice President for Administrative Affairs, and Vice President/Senior Vice President for Finance & Facilities. Dr. Williams has also served as the Treasurer of the NIU Board of Trustees.
Dr. Bharat Mittal, M.D.
Chairman of Department of Radiation Oncology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine
Bharat Mittal, M.D. is professor of radiation oncology and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology and an attending physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Meerut University in India and received his MBBS (equivalent to U. S. MD) from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, India in 1973. A flexible internship and residency in internal medicine were served at the Christian Medical College and Hospital. Afterward, he completed an additional residency in radiation oncology at Northwestern and a fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Mittal has previously been a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Tara Henderson, M.D., M.P.H.
University of Chicago, Department of Pediatrics Section of Hematology Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation
Tara Henderson, MD, MPH, is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Chicago and Director of the Childhood Cancer Survivors Center. Dr. Tara Henderson specializes in the diagnosis and medical treatment of patients with pediatric cancers. She has a particular interest in the care of childhood cancer survivors. Her research focuses on the development of second cancers in childhood cancer survivors. She is interested in the characterization of these cancers and those susceptible so that early, appropriate screening regimens can be developed. Dr. Henderson opened the UCMC Pediatric Survivor's Clinic to address the very complex and diverse physical and emotional needs of these patients. More than 120 patients have participated in this state-of-the-art program focused on understanding the long-term outcomes of pediatric cancer survivors.

John L. Lewis, Ph. D.
Executive Director, Northern Illinois Proton Treatment and Research Center
John Lewis is Executive Director of NIPTRC and has served as the proton therapy project manager, overseeing its planning and operations as well as management of the business and day-to-day affairs of the LLC. He also serves as associate vice president for NIU Outreach. As associate vice president, John leads a team of professionals in building partnerships that generate research, entrepreneurial solutions, support services and educational programs and delivery systems. Lewis holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He previously served as a senior research associate at NIU's Center for Governmental Studies, specializing in economic-development and health-care research. He also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching the economics of health care within NIU's College of Health and Human Sciences.
